About Indisteel

Process Capability You Can Measure. Quality You Can Trace.

Established in 2022 at IMT Faridabad, Indisteel is a complete wire processing plant — pickling, phosphating, bell-furnace annealing, inverted vertical drawing, an in-house laboratory and a lot-and-coil traceability system, all under one roof. We serve fastener, automotive component, cold forging, spring and engineering manufacturers across northern India.

Inverted Vertical Drawing (IVD) Lines

ASSOMAC inverted vertical drawing machines draw coil-to-coil with the finished wire wound directly onto carriers — 2,500 MT per month of drawing capacity across finished sizes from 2.80 mm to 30 mm. The IVD design keeps a large coil under control at high speed, which is what holds diameter and ovality steady along a 1-tonne coil.

Bell-Type Annealing Furnaces

All furnaces are SCADA-implemented — cycles programmed by grade, monitored live and logged per charge. PRECONS bell furnaces anneal wire rod and drawn coils under a nitrogen atmosphere after a vacuum purge. The sealed inner cover and 360° radiant heating give uniform temperature through the whole coil stack, which is what produces an even spheroidized structure with decarburization kept in check.

Incoming rod verificationEvery heat of rod is checked on our spectrometer against the mill certificate before it enters production — chemistry, hardness and microstructure are recorded against a new lot number.
Spheroidization and decarburization controlAnnealed coils are examined under the microscope for spheroidization percentage and decarburization depth. Results are recorded coil-wise; a coil that misses the grade window is held, not shipped.
Hardness window per gradeGrade-wise annealed and as-drawn hardness ranges are defined in our masters and agreed with the customer. Every coil is tested on a Rockwell tester and judged against that window automatically.
Dimensional controlDiameter and ovality checked with calibrated micrometers at start-up and during the run on every drawing machine, and again at final inspection.
Surface and coatingPhosphate coating weight measured in the laboratory; wire surface inspected for scratches, scale and lubricant carry-over before packing.

Tested In-House. Certified per Lot.

Our laboratory runs an optical emission spectrometer, Rockwell hardness tester (HRB / HRC), universal testing machine, metallurgical microscope, phosphate coating-weight test, and dump and wrap tests. Every lot ships with a material test certificate traceable to the rod heat number.

When we set up Indisteel in 2022, we had one clear idea: a fastener or forging plant should be able to buy wire the way it buys any other precision input — to a specification, with a certificate, from people who understand what happens to that wire on a header.

Our family has spent decades in the steel trade, supplying wire rod and long products to manufacturers across northern India. We saw where the gaps were: hardness that varied from coil to coil, decarburization nobody had measured, and test certificates that were copies of the mill's rather than the processor's own. Indisteel was built to close those gaps — with bell furnaces under a controlled atmosphere, inverted vertical drawing machines, an in-house laboratory, and a traceability system that gives every coil a number.
